My name is Ms. Booth, and I am a 5th Grade Teacher at Jacquelyn Y. Kelley Discovery Charter School. I am excited to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year. I am looking forward to having your child in my class to explore the novels of our Wit & Wisdom ELA Curriculum, our EnVision Math Curriculum, and our SaVaas Curriculum for Science and Social Studies. We will explore and engage in the many fun learning activities to enhance our knowledge! I am committed to creating a learning environment where your child can thrive!

Connect what is learned in the classroom to the real world. The learning program provides extensive opportunity to make education relevant through “discoveries outside the classroom”. Through an expeditionary learning approach, educational concepts are made concrete and reinforce the necessary relationship between actual experience and education.

Empower children to develop knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors that will make them lifetime learners and engage them in opportunities where they can put them into practice.
Project: Letter to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Students will write a 5 paragraph essay in letter format to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to describe a form of Injustice they would like to protest and what they would do to fight the injustice. Students will also create a Protest Poster for the type of Injustice they are protesting. Please see Google Classroom for more details.
